A felow focus guy at school has a SVT focus. Him and I were talking about what we have done to our cars and I mentioned that I had nitrous on my car. He asked if it was a factory install and I said no, thinking he was crazy. He then said that a freind of his from back home also got a SVT, but he ordered it with a factory nitrous setup insalled. I told him he was full of crap because ford never did that with the focus. Am I in the wrong?

No way man that is false.., he was probably talking about the Saleen I thinks..

Saleen had them on their focus with a sticker on the bottles telling you not to open it or it would void the factory warrenty.

Well I told him, and he is positive that it was an option. Does anyone here have a copy of the factory options so I can prove it to him?

And another thing, the saleen's werent svt's, were they? I thought they were duratec motors...

The saleens were duratecs, that guy is soo wrong. Hes probably one of those guys with sketchy information who swares he knows things, theres lots of those. He probably confused SVT with Saleen.

They were not SVT's. Saleen made a poor attempt at a performance modded focus and it was way over priced- I don't know about the rest of the country, but here in CA they were pulled off of our lots because they were not street legal (no CARB EO #'S). We had, I think, 3 of them for about a month- no one wanted them and we were glad that saleen took them back- I also don't think much of the saleen stage 3 mustangs- over priced and under powered- a SVT cobra mustang could easily blow their doors off.

yeah, that guy was totally wrong. it was the Saleen No2 model hes thinking of, not the svt.

The 2004 Saleen came standard with nitrous; and it was an option on the 2005 Saleen. No other Focus came with it.

On both cars, the feed lines were left disconnected and the bottles empty from the factory. Once you connected the lines, the warranty was void, whether you filled the bottles or not.

^^i never got that. why in the hell would u go through the trouble of puttin all the necessary nitrous goodies on the car, then tell people if u use it, u void the warrenty. complete stupidity.

I'm pretty sure you could just swap the lines and bottle and you're good to go. []
