I was going to get a aluminum or metal valve cover(Idk which one they are) at the pick a part like the ones off the contours for my 2.0L Zetec. I have done some research and put together the following possibilities of vehicles that may have the metal valve covers. Let me know if you guys know for sure if I can or can't get them off a certain make or model vehicle listed below.

FORD CONTOUR

1997 L4 2.0L 1989cc

1998-99 L4 2.0L 1989cc

2000 CONTOUR GL 1995-97 L4 2.0L 1989cc
1998 L4 2.0L 1989cc

CONTOUR LX 1995-97 L4 2.0L 1989cc
1998 L4 2.0L 1989cc

CONTOUR SPORT 1996 L4 2.0L 1989cc

FOCUS S2 2001-02 L4 2.0L 1989cc

FOCUS STREET 2001-02 L4 2.0L 1989cc

FOCUS ZTS 2000-03 L4 2.0L 1989cc

FOCUS ZTW 2002-03 L4 2.0L 1989cc

FOCUS ZX3 2000-04 L4 2.0L 1989cc

FOCUS ZX5 2002-03 L4 2.0L 1989cc

MERCURY COUGAR 1999-02 L4 2.0L 1989cc

MYSTIQUE 1999-00 L4 2.0L 1989cc

MYSTIQUE GS
1995-97 L4 2.0L 1989cc
1998 L4 2.0L 1989cc

MYSTIQUE LS
1995-97 L4 2.0L 1989cc
1998 L4 2.0L 1989cc

These should all be interchangeable, now which ones have metal valve covers?

Only the early contours without VCT. Not sure when it was introduced with VCT though.

On the early 2000 Focuses it came with a magnesium valve cover. Looks just like the plastic one though.

I have a plastic one and I dont like it. Even though there is nothing to gain from it except it looks more clean when you lift your hood lol

So what is the best one out of all of those?
Well so far what im getting out of these replies is that all of these models I posted all have plastic valve covers lol. The only ones that have metal ones are countour. I heard some escorts have them also.

the escorts and probes also have aluminum valve covers for the 2.0, but they are different bolt patterns and will not fit. the only valve covers that will fit our 2.0s are off the contours. any contour valve cover will fit as long as its between 96-98. even the VCT valve covers fit, but the raised VCT lettering looks stupid. there are about 2-3 different styles of valve covers on the 96-98 contours all will fit. you WILL NEED a new valve cover gasket and you will also need to use the valve cover bolts you get with the contour, our plastic covers bolts are too long and our gaskets dont fit. get the 96-98 contour gasket and everything works like it should.

Quick someone sticky this, I like to know what other valve covers can fit a 2.0l Zetec.

And this has all the plastic one's and with the addition to what (AdmiralZX3) said, it has info on the contour cover that will help people that wonder what year valve cover fits and what's needed.

I actually did mine ford blue. I was in a fender bender a year ago and painted my upper radiator support blue, so I wanted it to match. Today I plan on painting the tops of the raised letters (16 Valve Zetec and Ford logo) white. I will post some pics in here later this evening, remind me if they arent posted by 8pm lol.

there are 2 large verticle stripes on the left before the 16v, I think im going to paint those red and the 16v Zetec white (just the tops) same with the Ford logo, just the top of ford and the oval white. but on the 16v Zetec, the 'background' i think im going to paint black. I will do all that when i get home later today and will post up another photo when i get it all done.
