Yeah, that '12 and later DCT trans is Ford's insurance plan to create new car sales. Now in SUV only. You give a 300K engine and link it to a (sometimes) 100K transmission. What the millennials (we don't drink milk) crave, something different even if it is worse AND more expensive on top of that. Ford has sized up the buyers and found them wanting and ripe for exploitation. Why you get SUVs with less than motorcycle engines in them but turboed 6 ways from sundown and oil pumps belt driven by a belt that must be changed every 120,000 miles. All flash and no durability to retire cars way early to sell more.

My 2014 has 108K on it with no major work. I fully expect it to make it to 200K without much fuss but it might need a clutch. I'll be giving it to my son in 4.5 years either way.
