Yes, check the HID threads, or the DIY sticky.

You either need resistors, or to go into the FoCCCus app with an OBD-II device and change some settings in there.

This is the correct answer. I would suggest using the FoCCCus Program since it's easier.

Also, when you get it working can you please post some pictures of those at night... I've heard that LED headlight bulbs are generally not as bright as halogen/HID bulbs but the Lumens that that company says they output is higher so I am curious now.

You need grounding resisters. 55 watt type. One end to the positive feed on the led and the other end to a solid metal ground.

Pictures? And also notice any problems with the resistors overheating/melting since the headlights stay on for long periods of time.

I have no photos but it is straightforward. They do get hot but as long as they are not against some plastic, it's ok. Two years running HIDS without any problem. I did try LED's but not bright enough in dark areas for me, and yes I had to use resistors to get rid of the dip beam warning.

Editing the BCM using Focccus is easier. Be careful where you place resistors - the installer of my HID lights initially taped them to the factory harness almost melting all the insulation by the plug and potentially short out.

I have no clue how to use focccus unfortunately otherwise I would have. I mounted the resistors to metal so I'm hoping they don't overheat.

Do I need to install one end of the resistor to the positive wire of the led and the other end to metal to ground it or one end to the positive and the other to the negative?
Help. I need headlights backkkk!!!

Sorry guys, using resistors is ghetto and adds heat, which can be dangerous... if you can use a computer you can use Focccus with a $9 cable off eBay. Just take a few minutes to read that thread, it's worth it. You literally use a drop down option in the software to change your headlight option and flash it to your car, done in 15 minutes.

WORST case scenario talk to mechanic that knows how to use a computer and OBD-II tool and have them do it through software. There is no excuse not to have a modern car done right.

I am putting some HID's in my 2014 Ford Focus Titanium and have installed the relay harness to the battery and grounded it to the car. Connected a 50w resistor to the relay harness on the side closest to the battery and on the end that plugs into the headlight on the opposite side. Both resistors I connected to the negative and positive wires of the relay harness but I am still having trouble with the lights turning on. Sometimes only the driver side light comes on and the passenger light does not. And other times nothing happens with either light and I get a "low beam bulb fault." Does anyone have any suggestions?

Main suggestion is to look at a wiring diagram to understand where things should connect. The one that came with your system preferably, one of the many on the internet if you don't have one.

Can't tell from the description where you put those resistors, but it def. doesn't sound right.

They belong in the original headlight wiring portion of the circuit to replace the missing load from the original headlights to "trick" the car's system into thinking the lights are still there. The load from the relay alone is too low for the system to think a bulb is still present.

Figured it out and they are working perfect. Just swapped the lights from left to right and then figured out that one of the ballasts was bad. Thanks for replying.

I do have one more question, those resistors get extremely hot. Is it ok to just screw then into some of the sheet metal on the inside of the car?

That seems to be the preferred solution, just pick a place where the heat won't bother anything.

As danbefree mentioned in the prev. post http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/7979314-post14.html there are options to change the car's system to recognize the HID's instead of needing to trick it with resistors and use the same power as the prev. lights did PLUS that for the new ones.

No need for that... i have a proper HID retrofit with relay harness ... even if the BCM say bulb out it will work...

Source: Two years with a bulb-out error and counting [grinking]

Is that error really that annoying???? message goes off after 5 sec or if you press ok... not worth it to put resistor dissipating 110 watts of heat (wasting 1/4 hp on crank and fuel)

focccus for some reason never worked for me at Alternative HID option but what ever!
