i have an 04 focus svt...just changed the fuel filter and have since noticed horrible gas mileage...

checked around the fuel filter and their are no leaks and seepage or anything...

BUT! after driving my car ive been noticing a liquid dripping from the lunchbox portion of the svt exhaust...it seems like water, but then it kind of smells gassy/ or has an exhaust smell...

i do have an orp, but havnt noticed this before...

could it be fuel dripping from the lunchbox? doesnt make sense to me?

what do you guys think it is?

What was the mileage and what is it now?
Any codes present or pending?

yeah i think it was, it was the first drive of the morning, and i just drove home from school with no problems so i guess it all dryed up and just some condensation...

That is right. If you look close you will see a little hole to let any fluid drain.

That's normal, especially as the temps start dropping in the fall.

in so cal temps dont really drop!

but yeah i looked and saw that little hole when i got home...

less paranoid now!

and if you guys read my other post about gas mileage...im really hoping that that has been cured too...

i think a combination of adding a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, and having low tire pressure was the main cause.
