So you read right. I talk alot to anohter member knoxrocks222.

We talk about alot of ideas we have and things we would like to achieve. Tonights conversation included that of Push Start Buttons.

The Ford GT is an amazin button but i don't have that cash. It's a simple momentary switch from the write up mike did.

Our idea? Wire a very smiple and plain momentary switch up the same way the ford gt one would be wired in for a fraction of the price.

I will order a nice button later but as of now i want to see how i like it.

Later today we will both post pictures and end results for each of us.

I will have a video as well.

I hope the anicipation kills you all lol.

ok here they are as promised

heres the wires after u remove the lower part of the steering wheel notice the large read wire on the left, if u get down there, its the biggest red wire there, and there will be a grey wire with a black stripe on it next to it those are the 2 u are lookin for, just tap a wire into them and run them to the back of ur button and boom ur done

and here is the finished product, now know that i will be hooking my semi horns back up to this when my s2000 button gets here, i ordered it last night

and all thats in this

enjoy

I'd say get rid of the cylinder all together, and take a push to start button from like an Altima or a Lexus.....then you're in business..... just gotta figure out a way to not let it start when pushed any time.... [:D]

Why do it??

It's cool it cost almost nothing and it's unique in our vehicles. When the new button comes it will be so much better. It's a subtle but great mod IMO.

Some buy body parts or euro i put a push button start. To each his own. The issue with removing is the pats system which would have to be bypassed. Easier said then done my friends.

not to thread jack but we really do need to come up with a way to make it to were the car does not need the key to be turned on. Normally the key turns on the power which then allows the start button to start the car. So we need a way to keep in constantly ready to be activated and to provide power, then you can push the button. So really I think we'd be adding a step, maybe pressing two buttons... Or we could transplant a prius ignition system or something... idk.
