In this bad economy cities and towns across America will do just about anything for a extra buck. Law enforcement is no exception, Where a cop used to give ya a break they no longer do. This week I installed a new Escort 9500ix as well as a ZR4 laser shifter in my 08 SES. I know this equipment isn't the best on the market ($I am a poor man$), but I figure some protection is better than none. I had the ZR4 installed in a professional install store and had the system installed as stealthy as possible and still be effective. The ZR4s control box is hidden in the center console storage box, the head kill switch is on the steering wheel, and the ZR4s other computer components are behind the dash. The ZR4 is integrated into the 9500ix. Here is a photo of the front heads installed. Each shifter head is located 3 inches from each headlight and 10.1 inches from the front plate. I think they did a good job blending the heads into the front of the car.

Looks good, though! I hope they save you hundreds if not thousands of times. If I hadn't removed my grill about 50 times by now and memorized every surface on it, I wouldn't have even seen the shifters. Very nice.

If you avoid only 1 ticket with this system it has paid for itself! If you get a speeding ticket the fine along with the insurance bill increase costs are higher then this whole system!.Laser Jammers are illegal (because they work) in the states of Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC. Anywhere else GO FOR IT!. Here is a video of the ZR4 being tested against a new model police laser gun-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71Zjrj9mF-I&feature=related you will notice the ZR4 jams the cops gun all the way to the gun!. This doesn't always happen but it shows the effectiveness of this system. It however does give you enough protection in all cases to slow down to the posted limit before the cop gets your speed reading!. You do not want to jam a cops laser gun all the way to where he is standing! Although the shifter is legal to use it will piss off a cop big time! (police don't like to be defeated!). The trick is to slow down to the posted speed limit when the laser is detected and the system automatically activates, then use the kill switch to shut down the heads. The cop wont notice anything as long as in the end he gets a speed reading from your car.

WOW! I got my first save with the ZR4 today! The cop shot his laser at the front of my Focus. I was doing 15 over the limit when he tried to laser clock me. You should have seen the confused look on his face as he lowered the laser gun down and looked at the gun like something must be wrong with it. PRICELESS! I highly recommend the ZR4 in a small Focus it works GREAT!. I figure the system has now paid for itself in full!

Here is a photo of my anti LEO set up in my auto cabin. You will see my Escort 9500ix mounted using a blendmount and wire tap on the mirror, My ZR4 control box is mounted in the hole behind my stick shift and the laser shifter head kill switch has been integrated into the existing Ford factory control buttons on the steering wheel for a fast laser shifter head shutdown. I also use my fully rooted 10.1 inch Motorola xoom tablet for running trapster with this system. I find the xoom's screen much easier safer and faster to view on the road then a small cell phone screen and the no contract month to month paid 4G Verizon data connection provides a nice and fast connection for receiving real time updates on speed traps as I travel. The xoom tablet also provides a nationwide Internet wireless hot spot in my car for my passengers so they can enjoy on line entertainment with their laptops on a long trip. The xoom is fully voice activated so I can run the whole tablet without taking my hands off the wheel or my eyes off the road. Small and well hidden 110 volt inverters were also added front and back, to keep those passengers laptop batteries charged up. If I am pulled over the Xoom's screen quickly changes to a basic navigation screen with a fast swipe of a finger thanks to Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS. Not shown in the photo is a backup wireless LCD screen that is placed in front of the ZR4 control box completely hiding the box from LEOs prying eyes!. I also used the new ceramic window tint that's on the market 20% rear and 35% front for privacy and screen glare elimination (legal tint % in my state) and as a added bonus this new ceramic tint will not block GPS or cell signals the way most metallic tint does. All this equipment uses specialised mounts that enable easy removal of all equipment including mounts from the car in less than 15 seconds leaving NO TRACE,( to prevent theft). I spent MANY hours researching this set up and I am happy with it!. My friends tell me "FBI surveillance vans have less tech in them!" LOL OPINIONS PLEASE?--

Yea a laser shifter gives a police LASER speed gun a reading of "0" or a error code instead of your speed. This device jams any model police LASER speed gun. You can not jam a radar gun by law (FCC law) I use the 9500ix for my radar protection but you can jam any LASER gun. And using this device in my state (Wisconsin) as well as most other states is 100% legal! GOOGLE it an see for yourself. Next week its time to begin my next and final mod. I am adding BOOST to my Focus along with all available HP, dash gages and suspension upgrades! The parts have already started to arrive here THANKS UPS! I will post photos on these upgrades soon so stay tuned!. (Who said a Focus cant be a fun car) Just don't tell my wife what this stuff costs I don't want to end up living in my car!. THANKS EVERYONE for taking the time to read about and to rate my mods!. I also wish to thank all the experienced performance forum members here for helping me get "the heads up" on all these available performance upgrades! I could have never done this stuff otherwise!. This forum is a treasure trove of useful information for a Ford Focus.
