We have 9.6:1 compressions engines that are specifically programmed to run on 87 octane. Well, 9.6:1 is a relatively high compression for 87 octane, which means that the timing curves have to be conservative. Doesn't this mean with a custom chip, aggressive timing, designed to run on 91+ octane only, that we should see a noticeable difference with just a chip??? I've read reviews that chips dont really do much for the 5 speed cars... but those reviews were referring to Superchips and Diablo chips, which would have to be somewhat conservative for the masses. I have the opportunity to get a custom chip locally done, with alterations if I feel its not right, 3 positions also, but it will cost me. Wondering what you all think about this.

they don't do much for peak power, but at the track, they are proven...depending on your mods, just get the generic.
