that's what my ford dealership just told me. They said that the oil from my itg filter made my maf so dirty it stopped working. They said they cleaned it but I think they are pulling my leg. I've been oiling filters my whole life on motorcycles and I don't put ten tons of oil on it's hardly sticky to the touch. I've only had my filter on since this spring. Whatever I ordered the new sensor I as just wondering your thoughts on this.

Which ITG do you have?
Drop in, or SRI/CAI (open cone) type?

It could have been over oiled from the get go, which will screw up the MAF.
K&N filters that have been cleaned and re-oiled (with too much oil) are notorious for causing that very same problem.

Reason I asked about which type you have, is Iv'e had an ITG (drop in-factory replacement) for well over 60,000 miles and have had no problems.
I just don't know if the same can be said for the cone types.
