I have been looking around the forum for some time now trying to find some information on how to fix my cruise control. The issue that I am experiencing is the CC not engaging when I hit the buttons. I'll be driving, hit the button to engage, the light will flash on in the dash then go out.

So far I have checked fuses, and the brake and clutch pedal switches mechanically. Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. Trying to avoid the dealership.

Moved to General Tech Chat.

You'll find a "stickie" on cruise control diagnostics here & get more help.

Most common is a clutch switch that's intermittent because of the pedal not coming back up firmly - like when the return spring is broken/missing.

Besides the common problems with the pedal switches (there are 3 with a manual tranny), you might check your cruise cable.

If the cable is broken or binding, then the cruise will just shut off since it cannot maintain speed.
