'03 and '04 duratecs have metal valve covers.

iirc they are Al and could thus be anodized.

actually, standard plastics transfer heat slower than Al.

The Al valve cover would allow for a quicker transfer of heat, both in and out, than the plastic one.

Sorry, few things transfer heat faster than metals, especially Al.

I was going to do this, however, the provisions for the COP are different on the plastic vs. metal valve covers. Also the breather line is in a different location.

Um...cost?
yeah, thats it [:p]
but also, if you have ever tried to work wtih an aluminum valve cover on an older car, they get warped badly and they leak a lot more than plastic valve covers. IMO from my horror stories of my idiot boss having old people bring in their POS 1967 buick grand sports in that only get driven once a year for less than 20 miles. :)
