I have a 2014 Focus SE. We had our first oil change around 8500 miles, and the second at 16K, which was right before Christmas. The sticker they put in the window shows our next oil change is due in either June, or at 23K (we're right around 18K now).
Yesterday, my husband was driving home and the 'Time for an Oil Change' warning flashed on, and then went off. This morning when starting up the car, it flashed on again.
Would you assume that they didn't reset the oil change warning at the last oil change? If so, what do you do about it? Do you take it back to the dealer (big PITA), or can you reset it yourself? I found the info in the owner's manual on how to do it, but just want to make sure 'I'm allowed'.
Is there any other reason that warning would come on?
