Necessary to use break in oil after valve seat drop repair?

I went ahead and replaced all pistons and rings. Rings are Sealed Power cast iron. Do I need to run a break in oil?

There is no 'break in' oil, just what you choose to use. With new work you simply make your first change way early, I tend to do mine before 400 miles. You can save a bit by making that first change a cheaper oil.

With new rings you should have done a cylinder wall deglaze and why you change early, to get the extra wear particles from that out of the engine.

Gotcha; I figured an oil change would be due around 400bto 500 miles.

Thanks.
