Hi all,

Periodically my check engine light comes on and eventually goes off on its own. They is no discernable difference in engine performance in either case. When I run the code it comes up as PO401---- EGR insufficient flow detected & PO402---- EGR excessive flow detected.

Any ideas as to what the problem is and how it can be fixed?

Most likely a defective DFPE sensor, it is a common problem on the Focus. While it could be a problem with the EGR, typically it is a problem with the DFPE sensor, which is suppose to sense EGR problems.
