have 04 eap svt
got a check engine light checked with scanner code p1518 intake runner control
im guessing thats the motor for 2 stage intake
anyone had this promblem and again guessing i have to change motor
any help

Very common issue, there is a how-to on trying to clean the electrical terminal in the motor housing or you can get a new one like I did. Its a easy swap

Buying a new one is MUCH easier to swap out than to open the old one, de-solder the connections, clean the contacts, re-solder...etc.

What does the car drive like if the intake runner doesn't switch?

Drives like shit. Feels like it bogs down and doesn't have a lot of power. You can still get around though.

i have the code on my car, however, it drives like normal, its just the solenoid not firing every once in a while. if you're car drives like crap, it might be cause of the manifold itself. i've had the code for a while, it drives like normal. no power loss. so better check. though it is likely the IMRC, it could be something in the IM itself

I just got this code this past weekend....the only noticeable difference is when using cruise control it seems like it tries to overcompensate and then bog down. Every day driving seems normal.
