I originally I thought my alternator was taking a dump but after doing some testing I figured out that my battery needs to be replaced. So my question is whats a good replacement battery?

I do have a small sound system, 10" sub, if that makes a difference. I am looking possibly for a lightweight smaller battery but any good hi-performance battery will be fine.

Ideally I would like to spend under $150. What do you guys recommend?

I would look around for an Optima red top. Best battery you can by.

Whats the big differences between the two? I know the yellow top is deep cycle so you can run it longer without charging right, but other than that what other benefits does it have? My system does not draw that much power so it does seem beneficial for me to spend the extra money on the yellow top.

I think on the yellow tops the CCA's are higher. Since you're system doesn't draw much power the red top will be fine for you and it will be cheaper. You can read up on them HERE

You sure? I've always seen the yellows with a bigger price tag.

im sure. interstate are great batteries too never had a problem with then and if it ever dies within 10 years they replace it

get a kinetik.....even the kinetik 600 is better than most batterys

i used to sell optima batteries the red tops start around 140 ish and yellow around 170 ish

Well Amazon shipped my battery super fast and I got it and installed it yesterday and all I can say is wow. My car starts a lot faster and my car seems to actually run a little better(Probably just my imagination). Thanks for the recommendation everyone!
