I'm not a fan of Trump the person.

I try very hard to instill a sense of right and wrong in my children. They are not sore loser or sore winners, but try and show respect to the competition... even when they do not deserve it. I think it was stated very well in American sniper. You are either a sheep ( 90% of America) a wolf ( This is Trump. take any advantage you can and feed on the weak) or a sheep dog (protector of the weak). I will never follow a wolf anywhere. They are my sworn enemies and should be hunted to extinction..... and certainly not rewarded for being a wolf. As stated earlier most of our elected officials are wolves, but Trump is the first to embrace being a wolf.... and actually being proud of the fact.

The sad part is we will now swing waaay over to the left and elect some Democrat like Sanders. If Trump could have been a little bit of a sheep dog (and tried to get along) we would never be in a situation where someone who is soo far to the left even has a chance. If Sanders or any Democrat gets elected it will be the fault of Trump. You can fool the sheep into electing a wolf... if they don't know he is a wolf. I believe the sheep are finally starting to realize what Trump really is.

This is why politics and politicians are so hated. They spend most of their time trying to convince the sheep they are not wolves. We as Americans have the obligation to sort out the ones who are the most wolf like, and ensure they do not lead the herd into oblivion.... for their own selfish reasons..... or for the good of a few sheep and the cost of the welfare of the herd.

At least there are a couple of Dem hopefuls that are neither wolves, nor sheep (nor too far left). Amy Klobuchar is probably the best among them, she is a sheep dog, who has spent her political career working on doing the right thing for her constituents and the nation as a whole. Not sure the DNC will support her properly, but if they do it might work out better for all of us.

So much TDS.

Allies? Friends? Has the US ever had any real allies since the end of WW II? All there really is is a bunch of countries who let us pay billions of dollars to keep materiel and men at the ready to defend their socialist paradises so they have the money to pay for socialism. NATO means US forces based in Europe.

Oddly, our county keeps kissing the collective asses of our "allies" so that we can continue to spend billions keeping them safe. A whole lot of butt snuffling has gone on for decades. And we foolishly pay these countries for the privilege of snuffling their butts.

Foreign companies are building factories here. The stock market is up. I don't give a flying f if countries that we have to pay to be our friends like us. The reality is that they've never liked Americans, they only like our money.

Revisionist history, as told by disingenuous separatist propagandists, is not a reason to disengage from our alliances.

America and Americans made trillions of dollars profit over the 40s, 50s and 60s (above the expense to our bulging treasury) rebuilding Europe after WWII. Stalin was in power after the war and as evil as ever, with designs on keeping annexed Eastern European countries in the Soviet block forever. His stated purpose for that was to win an economic war against us, and destroy American capitalism, in order to establish communism around the globe and rule the world. What we did for Europe, we did for ourselves.

Things have changed since then, but it's not the fault of NATO or any of our European allies. The change is due to "bribing" China into opening their country to western capitalist influence, in an effort to weaken the Russian designs on crushing us and our way of life. Proxy wars were being fought all over the globe, against both the USSR and China, as both sides (capitalist and communist) sought to control the resources of poorer 3rd-world countries... the start of the global marketplace, and globalism in general. Due to the exploitation of cheap Chinese labor by our short-sighted corporations, and the manipulations of oil-based political opportunists (ramming the stupid idea that "bigger is better" up our collective wazoo), our global primacy was compromised many years ago. It wasn't, and isn't, our European allies who caused our current problems. Our current problems are caused by America making cheap and inefficient crap, using Chinese labor (instead of American labor) and low-spec materials (instead of quality materials), that isn't good enough to compete with more efficient and effective European and Japanese products. Those Nixon/Kissinger compromises have come to due for payment.

But don't expect the GOP's oil-men pundits to admit the truth. They'll just keep repeating the same line of garbage that it's "not our fault, it's those pesky European allies who caused everything to go wrong". It seems like you have wholeheartedly swallowed their revision of history... too much butt snuffling of the corrupt pro-oil forces that have taken over the GOP.

Sorry, NATO is a buffer zone but not an ally. Staying in Europe and NATO is like keeping your sheepdog after you sell the flock.

Again, "our friends" have never really like America or Americans. Let them support themselves.
