Okay, here's the deal. I currently owe $5,000 more or less on my SPI. It has about 75,000 miles on it, and a shallow dent in the rear passenger door. I found a 2005 Liquid Grey (my favorite Foci color) ZX3 with 14,000 miles for $10,900. I really want that ZX3. I was thinking of trying to sell my LX for what I owe on it (it's a long shot), and financing that ZX3, but then again I do love my LOW monthly payment I have currently ($136/month [thumb]). Give me your opinions on what you think I should do. Thanks Focus dudes.

(focusin let me ride in his, so now I'm hooked! w00t! [woot])

Yeah...that's what I'm leaning towards more. I can still up my SPI a litttle (TB, ECU, etc.), but I think I'll probably just wait for a better paying job before I upgrade. The only thing that worries me is the resale value. The longer I wait, the less the 'ol LX is going to be worth. That 136hp is tempting though...

Well your probly gonna go backwards on what you owe for your Sedan. So add that into the 11k sale for the car (If it's a car lot there's all sort's of fee's they'll get you on). The Duratec is a great motor, but I dont think it's worth going thousands into the hole just for basicly the same car, but with 30 more hp.

the duratec looks messy. i'm sure its a great motor but it just looks ugly to me. same with the zetec. The SPI and the SVt look the best. take a second look at the duratec and tell me you're not thouroughly confused by eveything going on.

I agree...there are wires galore under the hood, but that still doesn't snuff the fact that there will be about a million bolt-on mods for the Duratec. Unfortunatley, the same can't be said for my SPI. [:(]

if you do get the duratec, do a front end swap with me so you can get after market headlights

BE AFRAID!!!

Each wire just means more HP. LOL

But yea I see what your saying it does look intimidating but the more you look at it the more you see that what you are going to be dealing with as far as bolt ons go. You will never have to touch any of them, except for maybe the small stuff like the MAF while installing a intake. Or the standard o2 sensor.

Its not too bad, plus I cant wait for the Cosworth intake manifold to comeout. A nice and shiney Power by cosworth stamped peice of metal sitting right up front. Yummmmm!

^^^i do like the looks of the intake upfront, but exhuast work is going to be a royal PITA [hah]

PS- if you color match your strut bar it would look amazing.

Puting a header on will be a peice of cake, the gap in back is plenty large to even get air tools in let alone any size socket wrench!

Also, all in due time! The strut bar, will be painted when I get the SVT spoiler I want painted. I am also looking into the Cosworth carbon fiber engine cover once I see one and if the price is right. Lastly if all goes as planned I might consider getting a certian turbo kit piping color matched aswell.[:D]

The SPI was nice, but its even nicer to have a car with a GAINING not droping aftermarket. The one downside I gotta say about the duratec is the first gear is so damn short, I might aswell start off in 2nd.

I have not driven the 2.3 but I was talking to charlie (dazada) and he feels the same about the new car as I do. I wanted a hatch and so does charlie, it was time for a change and belive it or not the 3 door has MORE room than the 4 door.
