Well if you know me, did it again. Got a GPS unit and don't like the cigarette lighter plug, like who does anyway! I took out my A-Pillar cover and cut in for a 12v -> 5v converter that came from a USB ipod charger that plugged in the cigarette lighter too. I also soldered a green LED indicator too since I don't like the red. This way here I can disconnect the cable too when not in use or use that USB cable to charge any other USB compatible device like my RAZR or another ipod. Now I just need to find a 8" USB to Mini-USB cable....

You can also see the green LED activity right above the USB port. It will only charge when the vehicle is on.

not bad at all, personally hate those gps units but thats a damn good way to go about it. good place and all
