So what do you guys/gals recommend? I need new tires to replace the stock tires on my 2007 focus se.
My Dad says to go with Michelins?? I figured I would post in here since this is the NW forum and you will know what kind of weather I'll be dealing with.
Thanks

Yea I mean I don't want to spend a ton and want something that will have good tread life. That is why my Dad is trying to tell me to get some Michelins.

DUDE! Go to the TireRack site and check it out. The Tire Rack has a gazillion tires, and all sorts of ways to help you decide which tires are right for you!!
You first type in your car, then select the driving, and you will get a pile of tires, then you can read the comments on each sort of recommended tire. and compare the various attributes like in rain, snow, ride, longevity..
Amazing amount of really great info. No BS too.
i am amazed more folks do not just shout out TIRE RACK.
I have bought several sets of tires from them fast, cheap shipping, and way better prices than local.
They can offer places locally to put your Tire Rack tire on, too.
Most company owned Goodyear stores have no problem putting on Tire Rack tires IMO.
If you want the BEST tires for you and your driving, then checking out the system at the Tire Rack site is a MUST DO.
Even if you decide to buy your tires locally, the decision engine at Tire Rack is THE way to buy tires. Not some stupid recommend by one person here or anywhere.

I do not work for, nor have ANY affiliation with Tire Rack. i am a Information Specialist, and DUDE! Tire Rack HAS the information you want to buy tire you will be happy with. [driving]

TR has the best shipping time wise, but not always the best pricing. So if you are willing to possibly wait there are plenty of other tire outlets. I have personally used TR as well as these with the one exception noted:
www.tireseasy.com
www.onlinetires.com (slow shipping for the set I ordered).
www.treadepot.com
www.discounttiredirect.com
www.tirebuyer.com (I have not ordered from them but will if they have what I want for the best price. Like Discount Tire Direct, shipping is "free" US 48)

One other used by a friend without any problems is www.victoriatire.com .

Someone may recommend other places too.

Thanks for the input everyone. I took the advice and checked Tire Rack's site. I think I'm going to give the Conti DWS a shot :)

That's a wise choice, my '03 EAP SVT is wearing a set, and they rock. Cut's thru standing water like a knife, grip is high, and they're comfy too. Pricey, but worth it. I had to special order mine, and wait a week.
