I have a 2001 ZX3 that I bought new with the upgraded 16 inch wheels. I live in Colorado and even brand new "all season" 205/50/16 tires are horrible for going over the passes in snowy/icy conditions. I want to get a cheap set of steel wheels to mount some 195/60/15 snows on. Tire rack even suggested 185/65/15s. Will they rub?

My chances of finding OEM used 15 inch rims around here are slim, so I'm wondering if there are other cars with the same 4 lug pattern/offset (does anything else matter?)that I could look for. I don't want to mess with spacers.

Thanks.

You actually be able to find a set of 15 inch stock alloys (often called split five spokes) cheaper than some steel wheels. Its may also be possible to find another set of stock 16's (put 205/55-16 tires on them) on ebay or craig's list fairly cheap.

couger/contour/mystique wheels will all fit.
if u get 16" wheels 205/55R16 is a good size that fits and is easier to find than 205/50R16

195/60/15 and 185/65/15 will also fit no rubbing on 15" wheels.
you might even be able to find 14" OEM steel wheels.

just look for bolt pattern 4x108 (aka 4x 4 1/4") off set between 45 and 55mm

Used 14" Tempo/Topaz fit over the stock brakes. Used them before I upgraded to 15" steelies.

Thanks for the help! I found some 14" OEM steelies for $25 each. What size tire do you guys recommend for those wheels. I'm guessing 185/70/14s. BTW all the junkyard computers say there are no 15in oem steelies, but I know they're wrong.
