I will be getting my new Focus (2012 SE Hatchback) in about 4 weeks. In looking at the Focus, I saw the wide dash. I knew that I would be needing a dash mat.

I found this dash mat website. This dash mat looks like it is quality but it is expensive or at least I thought it was. i haven't had to buy one since 2000 (the last time I had a new car)

The dashmat is about $50.00 on this website.

Is this a good buy or should I be looking on Ebay?

Honestly, if you need a dash mat get one, but overall they are very tacky and as long as you maintain the dash regularly, you should not have a problem. I have a 96 BMW no cracks at all, almost 170k miles too!

Why not just take care of the dash and have it look good instead of covering it up with a mat? You can do whatever you want obviously but I don't get why you're looking at getting a dash mat to be honest. I've never had a cracked dash and the Focus' dash shouldn't be shiny as long as you don't apply a shiny cleaner or protectant.
