i have a quik question?
this is going to sound kinda silly but i am kind newb so plz bare with me. when u coat ur headers, does that just cut down heat or is thier another purpose it may serve.[???:)]

It's not really that noobish. It will cut down on the heat the header gives off yes. The reason I coated mine was because I wanted the header to last a long time, the coating makes the resistant to rust as well.

so what exactly happens when you get the coated? what is the process that Jet Hot or whatever other companies that do this kind of thing follow? they just clean it then spray it or something?

This is direct from the stuff they sent me.

All parts are blast stripped with aluminum oxide to create a clean anchoring profile. Header exteriors are coated twice and tube interiors recieve flow coating to assure coverage.

Basically they strip it then spray it with their coating mixture, which is a bunch of different metals I believe. Then they heat it to 650 degrees for 50 mins which allows the metals to adhere to the header.

At least you didnt ask "What headers should I get?"...

Heat and appearance are the main functions....jethot coating is HOOOOOOOT!
