So we just bought this 2006 Focus zxw ses wagon.

Today I had to park uphill at my wife's office. I smelled gas, went to the rear of the vehicle, and sure enough gas was dripping out.

The fuel tank is full. The filler spout looks ok at the top, but that's as far as I could see.

Any thoughts?? Thanks so much!

Wild guess, the fuel pump was replaced and they didn't put everything back together right. Some pumps come with a little C-clip for the fuel line that people don't know where it goes, so they skip it.

Begging for a fire doing that, the fuel pressure should pop loose whatever fitting not locked down in a matter of minutes. I've even used woman's hair bobby pins to replace those clips if bent right.

Ok, I found the leak, it's a tiny little hole right on the top of the tube, right where it bends, right above that lower mount.

Question. Can I plug it? JB weld?

Epoxy will not hold longterm.

If a tube wrap it with rubber (tire patch?) and a hose clamp, LIGHTLY tightened in case the entire pipe is corroded enough to cave in.
