Hey guys i recently bought a 2000 focus wagon and the hvac only works on high (position 4)

Does anyone know a fix for this? it seems to be a common problem in 2000 model year Fords as my Dad's F-150 has the same problem :(

Any help would be great since winter is coming fast up here in the great white north!!

If it only works on 4, then your resistor is your problem. On setting 4, the power is direct to the blower. Not sure if that means you have to replace your HVAC controls or not. Someone more educated on Fords will have to chime in.

I had that problem in my 2000 focus

I went to a junkyard and robbed a speed control switch off another, it worked like a charm and never had another issue.

mine was the blower resistor. That's my story, replaced and all better.
