So I'm new to this forum. Don't panic if you see my profile and realize that what I'm currently driving isn't a Ford - my wife and I are long-time Ford owners, she drives a 2011 Ranger and we have a 2002 Taurus wagon as well in the stable. But when 2007 rolled around and I needed a new car, Ford just wasn't making anything that really excited me. Because we had a teenage daughter, I wanted a 4-door car - so the Mustang was out. We'd owned Escort wagons in the past but I just wasn't that into the Focus at the time. At the time it seemed like Ford didn't know what to do with the US versions and they were just boring econoboxes. The Fusions were still pretty new and had the ugly headlight look and the Taurus was MIA, replaced at the time with the 500 which was definitely a car for the geriatric crowd. Looked at the Mazda3s, liked those but the dealers wouldn't haggle. The 08 Lancer was brand new, the dealers were looking to move them - so that's what I bought.

Eight years later, my daughter is taking over the Lancer and within the year I hope to get a new car to replace the Taurus. At first I was thinking Mustang, but living in Pittsburgh a rear-wheel drive sports car is just a recipe for accidents. And then I see the announcement that the Focus RS is coming to America....and that perks up my ears. I think I'm going to be a Ford man again.
