ok so were all agreed the audiophile system is for lack of a better term...CRAP. So here is MY dilema...which i think is different then the ones posted here but I didnt know where else to post it.

SO...I opened up the top...and there are no cd's in there at all. I try to load a cd...says cd error and hear the wonderful clicking sound as it cycles through. So my question is..if there isnt a cd stuck in there why wont it load and why is it making that horrible racket and then say CD ERROR when its finished?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Burn it with fire!

I know this thread is old, but...

I followed this advise and it worked awesome. Got my cd's back. I actually tried to burn it up by leaving my battery connected and then I kept arcing the plug as I laughed all evil like.

I used a coat hanger to make my own removal tool. You can buy these at WalMart.

On Thursday of this week I will be rid of this POS.

On Saturday 3.15.14 I have arranged for my buddies to take it to the shooting range for target practice as suggested by the OP and maybe...if anything's left...skeet shoot practice as well. Followed by fire to kill it for sure.

Pics to follow....

Here's a pic before..;

Well the guy who's supposed to kill it with bullets hasn't done it yet...lol, but I keep asking him. I put a Kenwood in mine. [twothumbs]

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I think my question is relevant and I want a definitive answer:

The instruction sheet for the removal tool warns about "code protected" radios that will require a trip to the dealer after unplugging them. I'm not keen on buying a new radio just yet (or paying a dealer), so I want to know if the 9006 audiophile unit will still work after I remove it. I know OP mentioned he slid his radio back in, but I'm really paranoid about bricking my radio.

EDIT: Thanks sailor!

Ford didn't use code protected radios in U.S. Focus production.

Some cars/aftermarket radios use this system, you get a code to use with the car/radio for any time it gets disconnected from power.

Your '04 radio would be 'bricked" by now if it needed one and it wasn't avail., I'm sure the battery has been changed in the car by now.

HOLY CRAP!

BTW that dude never shot up my old 9006 and I wish I had it back lmao. He doesn't work at our shop anymore and I've lost contact with him.

Hey Lemon if you want to get rid of that 9006 I'll take it. Don't care that the CD player is busted.
