[dunno]I am about to install a new long block assembly in my Focus and want to know the procedure to prime the oil pump and fill the block galleys with oil before starting it. I also need the torque specs for the flywheel wit automatic transmission. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks Kars

remove spark plugs and don't let fuel run either. do a few sets of 10 second cranks allowing a few seconds in between to allow the starter to cool.

sorry I don't know bolt specs off the top of my head. I could get them but I'm at the pool right now. lol

You might want to get more familiar with the Focus' oil pump and the cautions mentioned in this article. It looks like a lot of problems have been blamed on incorrect priming of the oil pump. FWIW.

read through it... basically my same procedure but I like to be safe about it. nice link though.

Pull the coil connector out to disable spark and crank the engine while holding the throttle wide open. It won't squirt fuel in while at WOT during cranking.

yeah that's right it wont... I forgot about that!

reason why I also suggest removal of the spark plugs is that it takes compression out of the equation and allows the engine to rotate easier with the starter. naturally, it means more oil flow .
