Hey everybody I don't drive my car that often so I went to go christmass shopping the other day and every time I would push in the clutch and come to a stop the engine would shoot up to 2k and then gradually come down to the normal 1k.

Anybody have any ideas on what I can do cheaply to try to fix this?

Thanks in advance guys

Well if I had a vacume leak that would throw a CEL.
I had a leak once and it threw a CEL.
I don't know if this helps but sometimes when I start the car for the first time in awhile it will start then drop pretty low for a second or two and then shoot up to 2k.

I'm thinkin tps,maf, iac,??
Anything else guys before I start to throw money at her?

Thanks again

Chris

I'm going with the idle air controller or TPS going south on you. Would explain the jump in idle like that. A dirty maf would just make the car idle lumpy all the way around.
