Hello everyone,

I am struggling with a big problem with my 2000 ford focus ZX3.

the idle on it would raise to 2000 rpm or more and takes forever to drop down when i am stopped. When driving, the car feels like it is on cruise contol ( but I don t have cruise control on it).

My question is that i am not entirey sure it i oming from the IAC. The PCV hose has already been canged twice.

If I unpluged the IAC, the car would idle (a little low) and drives fine.

Do you think the probem i coming fromthe IAC?

I just would like a confirmation before attempting to replace it.

Thank you for your help

Remove the IACV and clean it with carb cleaner. Check the rear PCV hose for any cracks and, squeeze it to see if it is squishy.
