is there really a need for a cat? i know that its better for the environment, but i dont have the money for a hfc right now. And if i do just take out the stock cats what exactly do i have to do so i dont get an engine light? my buddy told me spark plug anti foulers, or non foulers. not sure what that is?
and we dont have emision (spelling?) checks where i live. so im not worried about getting fined for it.

Get yourself an ORP (off road pipe) to replace the cat.
High flow cats are mostly for people who have to worry about passing emissions tests.
After the ORP, get yourself a tune from Tom (1turbofocus) and he can turn off the 2nd o2
sensor and you won't have a check engine light, or any problems associated with having it unplugged.
His tunes for the svt are awsome from what i've heard. Great increase in power and drivability.

From what I've seen of 'hi-flow' cats, I'm rather skeptical of performance boosts...
I seen a dyno overlay, where the new cat run clearly ran a tune on the car as well, so...wherein the stock run, didn't use the tune...

thats what the ORP is, a hollow pipe with the 2 holes cut and threaded for the o2 sensors. it basically saves you the time of going to the exhaust shop.

^^^Agreed.
The low-mid range boost in power (off-idle to 5,000+ rpm) with the HFC is rather substantial.
(I've got he CFM-HFC)
