Took a road trip today. I carried a cheap Styrofoam ice chest in the hatch trunk and it leaked. I removed the felt floor but I need to know how to remove this knob without breaking it. Water wicked up behind this side felt trim piece and I need to let it air out before mildew sets up. The knob does not turn or pull off.

I can't help you sorry. I searched the entire manual and I found nothing about thoses pins. But, may I suggest buying a trunk liner in the future ?

However, I think this kind of pin is removed from behind. Not sure. If you want to try it:

Found the schematic for the part you are looking at. Apparently, you are not pulling hard enough.

*Image is for the sedan. I don't have the 5 doors schematic, but it should be fairly the same according to the layout.
