Make sure the new stereo comes with a wireless remote. You need that to program the SWI-X

pioneer i know, others i assume the reason they are back is because of units like SWI that allow the interface with aftermarket.

the problem with the SWI is its IR so if your in the sun or have a sun roof down the remote wont work good all the time (mine wont) you also have to mount the IR on the dash (no biggie) but the advantage to the wired units ... the wire is a headphone jack you plug into the back of the stereo thus allowing for light independent use of the remote. obviously the IR is more popular. but they do have altertnatives.
