So this is one of the plugs that was in my motor for the last few months. Its an Autolite 104 gapped to .060. I drive a 2.3 and was swapping them out for the 103's as they are a colder plug which supposedly the 2.3 needs over the 2.0.

So anyway it looks a bit hot to me don't you think? I don't get any engine noises or anything from idle to WOT and no lost power so I am not trying to correct any problems. Just curious as to how each would perform from a hotter to a colder plug in the 2.3 to see if we ST and 03-04 PZEV owners should be using a colder plug especially when modification is involved.

Mods to the motor are as follows.

-Steeda SRI
-F2 Header (wrapped)
-Trubendz 2.5" Exhaust (no cat)
-Tuned by Focussport for 91 Octane
-BSD

So what do you all think. Here are three pics.

Also going to go to the dyno probably this weekend to determine what the A/F is and see if it needs any correcting so we'll see. Also to see what numbers I am putting down. lol

You cant take a plug that has been run/driven around on and tell what your AF and timing

To check a plug you need to install a new set let it warm to engine temp then go and do a long WOT run somewhere and lift then shut the engine off coasting in , then take it out and check the plug but there is NO WAY to check it with out it in your hands , there is no way a picture will show you what you need to be looking at

When you go to the dyno check your AF when it is right play with the timing 1 to 2 Deg and see what works safest

Yeah camera on the phone is convenient but not the best. lol. Intrax right? How much did it cost you the first time?
no I wene to INTEC in kent it was 45 bucks for dyno and an extra 15 to do AFR so out the door like 62 buck for 2 runs but well worth it IMO

Will do Tom. Although this was to determine a hot or cold running plug and not necessarily the A/F ratio but I suppose the two are somewhat connected anyways.

And Guy I will give you a call later tonight when I know more about my schedule this weekend. Maybe I can follow you down there since you know where it is and we can do some runs together. Would be fun.

ive also noticed that 2005 ST say to use 103 plugs, but the 2006-up say to use the 104 plugs. anyone notice that?
