I have a 2002 Focus ZX5 with over 130k miles on the clock. Recently the car has been over heating and I noticed at the fire wall water pouring out from the bottom section(of 3 connections). I did not find any loose hose and wondering if this is some kind of "plug" that has come off. The car is going thru a gallon of water very fast. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, I also noticed more than usual water coming out of the exhaust.. Related??

Water or coolant?

Or are you using water FOR coolant?

No info on where you're at, so we can't guess the weather there.

Daughter is using water since it is leaking anyways. I found the heater core leaking in the passenger floor board. Bypassing core temporarily until she gets paid. ;(

That'll work, BTW it's a big job to replace that core.

You answered my next question already, not likely to leak out that A/C drain a lot without some on the floor.

Simplified instructions for re & re heater core:
1. Block off an entire week of your life.
2. Remove everything between the firewall and the back seats, making sure to label all connections. Don't break any plastic clips or retainers.
3. Remove and replace heater core.
4. Replace everything removed in Step 2.
5. Voila! You have heat again.
