Hi Guys:

I have a JBA shorty header 2 bolt flange type ( before you ask why, because that's what fits in my '59 Austin Sprite).
The header bolts continually vibrate loose. This is a bolt through application not a stud and a nut.

Any thoughts on how to keep them tight?

thanks,
Rod

How tight are you torquing them? I would use the proper applicaton of Loctite. MAKE SURE you check the strength of it before you buy. If its blue you will never get the bolts out of the head.

before you loctite those bad boys snag some lock washers and throw them on there. i had to do that with 1 trouble bolt that kept vibrating loose on my header. i had to tighten that darn bolt every few weeks up until i put a lock washer on it. ive not tightened it up again in the 2 years or so since.

i suggest doing whichever of the two options comes out to being cheaper or seems like a better option to your personal judgement. i wouldnt want to use loctite personally because i would be afraid of never being able to get the bolt back out of the head like matt said.
