I have a focus and a zx2

I do have a way to tune both of them via flashing the ecu.

The escort i recently removed the turbo setup and going for a reliably easy daily driver with good MPG.. Have resurfaced head shaved .055 should net me at 10.3:1-10.4:1 and is non interference still.

The focus was a cheap car to drive while my escort is down again...
It has lunchbox removed, lowered till the tires had no fender gap, urethane sway bar bushings,urethane dogbone mount, t/b ported, VOlant intake. And egr hack mod and a tune. ITS A ATX.

Im going to be shaving the focus head and maybe later on get a set of stage2 comp cams. But whats is the safe limit for shaving the focus head? is it the same specs as the escort zx2 head even though there different heads due to vct?

what sniper do you have for tuning ?

There basicly the same heads , Me I would stop at 10.0 compression the fuel we have even 93 just isnt up to keeping the Zetec safe with 10.4

If you do the Comps do the stg3 cams , SVT header , SVT Inj and mass air

Why did you give up on the turbo

sniper delta force

the low end version that has presets.

the escort went up in flames literally,

i had a intake valve hang open and the motor backfired and caught the car on fire big time, melted everything from the driver seat up to the front headlights

the car is almost back together ,,, only need master cylinders and slave ...al the wiring was replaced and motor was rebuilt. i shaved the escort head 55 thousandths just need to get the focus running better before I put more weekends in the escort

update on focus ,intake zx2 cam...exhaust comp 1 cam... Volant short ram, 2.5 catback ,svt header conversion with nonsvt flex. UDP ... lowered as far as i can on sleave-over coilovers.

I have a sputtering problem and the car seems to be leaning out drastically, I crank the car and it stalls within a minute, then once i crank it again, its drivable. I installed my aem eugo and it doesnt show a consistant reading, but while driving it leans out BAD on the gauge like 18.1 and feels like it has low power but stays running. once i stomp the gas the a/f returns to 14-16.1 range but only when i do this does the power seem to come back.

so when sluggish feeling i stomp gas and it clears up momentarily for abou a minute,


does this sound like a fuel pump getting weak?

If you get a custom tune (not sniper) , have a wide band and you get the tune from me then we can do remote tuning and you would only need about 30 min on a dyno to adj the cam gears
