Im thinking it may be easier to leave intake manifold attached but unbolt the exhaust manifold from the head and leave it attached to the exhaust,just tie it back out of the way. Any opinions ?

thats what we did when we took the head off to rebuilt it for a dropped valve seat. took two people to lift it off tho.

thats what I did too. there is a bracket at the bottom of the IM to the block. dont forget this its kinda a PITA to get off
