K so heres my problem i broke my drivers side headlight and it the 4 bulb HID projector kind with the blinker built in, the clear housing its busted to shit and the converter box that bolts to the bottom of the light blew out (got it wet) so I either need to find a company that can replace it or i need to know of a aftermarket company i can just buy a new set from (dosent have to be the same). i like the black housing but right now im just having a hard enough time finding one that will work i wanna keep the blinker inclosed beacuse if i dont i have to do some fancy wiring i think to make it work.[dunno] so any input would be very much helpfull thanks guys.

The box you broke i think is the ballast, to have HIDs you have to have that ballast. HIDs run off of WAY higher voltage than regular lights. So you will need to replace that, i have heard read about a "VW" harness that works but no idea for sure. After market projectors will work but theres a website that explains how converting them to HID is bad, less vision.

Sorry to blab on but all in all you need a balast to run your HIDs no matter what you do bro.

yeah but the thing is i broke the clear cover on them and i mean blew it to shit i hit a deer so i would need to get a whole new head light or get the ballast and split the case on a old zx3 head light and replace the clear on mine but i think new would be cheaper and easier

Any Replacement Lenses?

My lights are getting that sun damaged look. The UV protection is flaking off. I want to replace them with new lenses. Are they available and if so, where?

^^Just because one website says that Aftermarket projectors and HIDs don't mix doesn't equate to fact, no matter how compelling the evidence. I, among many others Here on FF have "Aftermarket" projectors with HIDs installed with, imho, marked improvement for those using relatively low Kelvin output (4300k-6000k). And for the record, projectors are designed specifically for HID bulbs, as the type of light emitted from one can be blinding to oncoming traffic in a standard reflector lens, which is designed for the halogen bulb. The lens of the projector "aims" the light to where You need it to be. Ask around though, I could be totally off-base.

As for the busted lens, I'm not sure where to buy them, but the idea of pulling the lens is fairly easy, just time consuming, and You'll need the lens from another SVT, from My understanding, again, I could be wrong. If You have the funds, You can get new headlights and HIDs for anywhere from $260 on up shipped, depending on brand.

the lens can be transplanted from a "normal" focus headlight. they are identical.

i have some ballast from my pair of headlights if you need them. im sure we can work out something.

i agree with not contacting the ins company. you can get this taken care of for far less money.

1) buy a good set of "normal" focus headlights & transplant both lenses. this way both headlights remain identical without making one looking newer than the other.
2)buy my ballasts to replace the one that got wet
3)i also have the stock D2S bulbs if you need them as well

you are really going to have to play cleanup when you have these housings apart. as im sure that the projector and the shield motor has been weather damaged. hopefully the shield motor is still functional

but you NEED to stop driving with that headlight on your car. any more contact with the outside will cause unrepairable damage.

another thing. you CANNOT clean the chrome on the inside with anything! as soon as you touch the chrome, your fingerprints will become unremovable due to the super small thickness of the chrome layer. you will wipe it away! so, this also presents another opportunity for you.....color match the headlights to the color of your car. this mod is uber sexy on any color car and is relatively easy to do.

The head lights that r in it r Hella and i dont know if you can change those things but if you can i am more then happy to work a deal with you!

go to a junkyard or ebay and get a set of stock focus headlights with goods lenses for cheap. or just buy 1 if thats all you need. this is what i did. my machs were horribly oxidized so i transplanted some zx3 lenses to them and painted them while they were apart.

before and after of my machs.
