The button inside my car to open the hatch doesn’t work, I always have to use the key fob, any idea what’s wrong and how to fix it. I like using the button when someone else needs to put something in the hatch without me having to take key out of ignition and pressing the button on the key fob

Wiring going to hatch is probably broken. When you open the hatch there is a rubber boot at the top that the wiring passes through. That is where the damage is located usually.

The fact that it works with the fob pretty much rules out most wiring or fuse issues. The dash button goes to the GEM and the hatch release is operated from there by either the fob or dash button.

It could be as simple as the dash button is broken. It supplies a ground signal to the GEM. Using a voltmeter, see if one side (the other side goes to ground) has approximately 12V. It should then go to 0V when the button is pressed.

Replace the dash button. This is a common failure and the replacement button cost is cheap.

I had the same issue on my SVT several years ago.
