SPLIT-PORT POWER CONTROLLER

Full throttle controller for the Split Port Induction setup on the 2000 and later 2.0L Ford Focus SPI engines. This instantly opens the secondaries in the intake manifold any time you kick it down in less than œ second. The factory setup opens above 3,000 rpm and takes over 5 seconds to open fully, then when you lift to shift, closes again. A modification you can feel instantly. (requires minimal wiring)

has anyone used this if so how good was it? thanks

Maybe you should have spent 20 dollars on it then. BTW, does anyone else have firsthand knowledge of that 20 dollar pos? did you notice a difference arrestmespi?

no gains, the kit from escor-focus.com is like
$100 shipped, parts are worth like $20
gains marginal doesn't get as much gain as it does losses.
you lose low end torque under 3k and the only gain is that the ports stay open when you shift which is only good if you shift so you end up greater then 3.1k in the next gear

You can actually do it your self for free. It was discovered by a memeber on here a while back (waterboy). Ill find it later. Alot of SPI members decided that it was not usefull and so no gains and was actually very pointless if i remeber correctly.

(Quoted from waterboy) The "Swab"(Super Waterboy Actuator Bypass)
Gotta thank H20boy for pioneering this mod. If you disconnect your IMRC motor from the intake manifold you can pick up some low end power. Here is a mini how-to he posted a while back..
"It's behind your stock airbox. Remove the airbox and a 10mm bolt on opposing corners holds the actuator on. It just slides off. Tuck it up out oftheway or nytie it to the firewall, whatever. Open the butterflies (rotate the tabs toward the front of your car), and wedge them open with something. I have since changed to using an old carb spring to hold it open. Do not unplug the actuator, as you will get a CEL (or MIL) light. Drive like a bat out of hell. Enjoy. If you like the response, then e-mail me and I'll let you know what I did that's a little more permanent. " What I can add to H20boy's info is that I didn't remove my actuator, I put like five or six washers under it to space it away from the manifold enough that it doesn't touch the linkage arm anymore and still is bolted to the side of the intake.

This is the thread were waterboy says its crap.
I cant find the pictures because i think waterboy took them down. The reason i think everyone stopped it was it destroyed gas mileage. hope this helped
