Yeah. Once the ST is paid off, I'm doing the same. Either a turbo-4 roadster (if Mazda ever releases another factory turbo'd Miata, I'd be all in) or a V8 RWD. The Mustang GT is on my short list. My dream car is a 2018 GT350R, but the chances of that are slimmer than finding an RS with a warranty.

I’ve never been much of a Mustang guy, however I did have a ‘96 GT with the 4.6L.

I suppose I could look at an ‘18 GT350 since there are a few of those locally?

I’ll just bring my check book & be in & out of there in 45mins...

A very simple transaction, should I choose to purchase a Mustang.

There's a difference in the 350 and the 350R. I'd take a 350, but my dream car is the 350R. Unfortunately, I'm not made of money.

GT350R is a monster. I'd be interested in a Mustang GT but I've also been looking at c5/c6 corvettes. 370z is also on the short list even though it's not a v8. Still some fun cars out there once the market settles.

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if you buy an RS and someone scrapes against it with the buttons on their pants and puts a big ass scratch all the way down the door.
Karma is a bitch. 😆

@ryno9100 same here for me. That's actually my #1 pick for the replacement for the ST if it comes over here with AWD. Idk how I feel about it being FWD.

Either way, I liked the way the corollas drove when I was testing cars before the ST, they were just gutless.

I'm at 4 years of ownership with my Fiesta ST it has 16,000 miles on it, and is very clean. It will be with me till death do us part. The Toyota seems cool but it is going to be expensive. I hope to not buy another vehicle for at least 5 years.

I'm going on 4 years of ownership of my 16' ST and have put 61K miles on it (bought it with 11k). I will probably end up keeping it forever and parking it next to my (2) Mk1 hatches to rot away lol. I have owned this car longer than any of my previous ones that aren't sitting in a garage (My Impreza and Outback I only owned 2.5 years, still miss my base '07 Impreza) and to date the ST has only had minor easily fixable issues.

I enjoy many things about my ST and it was the first manual car my wife didn't mind driving. Fuel economy is decent, can use regular fuel if I want, comfortable on long drives, plenty of cargo space, Sync 3 is pretty nice most of the time, HIDs are decent from factory, etc.

Also, there aren't many "practical" manual hot hatches that do anything for me or in my price range. I like the looks of the RS but the issues they have don't appeal nor does the stiff or stiffer suspension settings. I've looked at Golf R's but the styling is meh IMO.

I sure do wish the Fiesta ST had HID headlights.

I actually preferred driving the ST but the lighting and lack of space pushed me towards the Focus. The FiST is a wonderful car and I wouldn't mind adding one to my collection of vehicles.

Isn't there a conversion out there for you guys? Aftermarket anything that isn't Chinese garbage.
Stuff like that is why I didn't buy a fiesta. Lol

You can install Euro headlights they are about $700 and you have to rewire them. They are still halogen. I need to install some high quality LED headlight bulbs.

I like small cars, first car was a 96 Ford escort two door. I do like the Focus ST though and I am glad Ford made both. I average about 30 miles per gallon and I drive aggressively. Air conditioning is also very good it has a larger AC system than my 2010 Ford Focus had.

Uggh gross. That sucks.
Make sure you get some quality LEDs that don't blind the shit out of everyone. Haha

I have some decent ones in my Mazda 3 projector headlights though never been flashed. I'm not an *******, I would adjust the headlights if they were too high.

I love the Corolla iM and other hatchback models. Especially the newest ones. I think they look awesome. I've never had a chance to drive one, but I've driven plenty of manual Corollas in my day and they've all felt about the same, just some newer than others. Comfortable, easy to drive, good feeling clutch, gearbox, shifter, etc, but they all have the same problem. They all lack ANY kind of punch to them. That's what excites me about the GR Corolla. I've always told my wife that if they would turbo a Corolla hatch it would immediately land on my shortlist of next cars, and here we are. AWD or FWD would be cool by me, though I'd prefer AWD for performance, of course. I can NOT wait for the official announcement. Wish we had any kind of timeframe on that.

THIS. When I was shopping for my ST, I had just come from a 2008 Chevy Cobalt and a 2000 Escorts ZX2 before that. I hated the Cobalt, but loved the ZX2 and had a blast driving it, but it was a coupe. It had no storage space, the back seats were a joke and it lacked any real power. At the time, I didn't mind, but when the Cobalt died I decided I made enough money now to buy something more fun. What I told my wife was that I wanted something that was a mix of fun and practical. Good handling, good storage space, good acceleration, good gas mileage, decent technology. There was literally only one car that fit all of the bills. The Golf's aren't as reliable (according to my dad, who has to work on them constantly), the Corollas have no kick, the Impreza was too expensive and aren't known for 200+k mile lifetimes. It was just overall the best choice for fun and practical.

I hope he gets rear ended pulling out of the dealership after paying over "poker market value". Not enough to total the car but just enough where it ends up in a body shop for months and never looks right after being fixed. I also hope the guy working on it places the RS badge in the wrong spot🤣

Hell I would even venmo the guy working on it money just to place the RS badge in the wrong spot:LOL:

I'm happy to throw in to make that happen too
Or even to throw in to make someone crash into him on that pick-up day!
