If I remember correctly (I'm getting old) several members mentioned this problem in the past. I also believe at that time some of them got some warranty relief. Hopefully they'll chime in. A better title to this post would be more helpful in attracting attention.

If that's on your '10 SES, take it back to ford and get them replaced under warranty.

My 10 SES is doing the same thing, been looking at the others I've seen around town and at least half of them are doing the same thing. The Dealer said nothing could be done since I'm past the 36K now.

My SES wheels haven't done the same and I got them from a 2010
Though my aunt's Escape was a 2010 and her front wheels did this at around 5000 miles and Ford replaced both of them

I know for sure she didn't wash the wheels with anything bad. She didn't wash it at all other than hose the bird crap off

Wow, what do you use to clean them?
To me it looks like they were stressed, maybe from cornering? The soft spokes are flexing a little and causing the hard clear over coating to crack then chip?

Just a guess though.
