car just failed mot on handbrake does not work on drivers side its a 51 reg focus 1.8 tddi
can any one help with ideas please

Most likely your parking brake cable it frozen with rust. Does the parking brake handle pull up at all?

Yes works fine on passenger side

Moved to Brakes, Suspension & Chassis

Driver's side is the issue then, if you get assistance to move the lever you can SEE if the cable is moving on that side. Then deal with that & whatever problems are inside the drum (terminates inside there).

all sorted now i hope the adjuster had stopped working took it all off cleaned it up all good thanks for replys shaggy
