I just replaced the front pads on my '00 Focus Sedan SE for the first time and ever since I did them, I've been hearing a groaning sound from the front end whenever I set off from a cold start. Once the car gets warmed up, the sound goes away, even when moving from a stop.
I've done a lot of brake jobs before, but they've always been the style where the pads are mounted to the caliper bracket, rather than to the caliper itself. I tried to see if I could tell what was wrong and the calipers seemed really loose where they sat in the bracket; I thought maybe those stupid little torx-head bolts (something else I've never seen on brakes before) were loose, but they were already tightened all the way down.
Did I maybe do something wrong while changing the brakes, or do you think there's something else wrong?
