I recieved my new driverside HID headlight assembly and it was broken inside in the same place my old one was broken. I was from the Ford dealership.They almost wouldnt refund my lamp for a different lamp.

Is there a design flaw with this Hella lamp?[chair]

If by lamp you mean the Hella MACH HID then no. Sounds like they weren't nice with it.

It is the mount inside that adjusts there projector. Two were broken and hanging by one post. It is the same broken spots as my lamp. Oh it is the optional lamp from factory. They are telling me they are hard to come by because my car is so old. SVT 5zx 2003

It's not the cars age those are hard to come by period. Sucks but i would make them replace it if you can.

The Ford dealer called me today and said the new lamp was in but it was also broken in the same spot inside. So they are going to order another one. It has been 2 weeks now.
And I already paid my Discover card for it.

I just got a call from my Ford dealer . The new lamp is in but.... one tab on the outside
is broken off. I went there to see it and said I am paying 650 + tax for a new lamp it has to be flawless order a new one. This is such a pain in the ass. I will never get a car with those types of lamps again!

The drama is over I got my new lamp today and is in perfect condition. Already installed and working.what a great birthday gift! LOL Now what to do about the other lamp isnt as clear as this new one. I tried buffing it. I think I have to sand it down more and then buff it.

Your going to want to wetsand with a very fine grit like 2000 or 2500 then buff it and so forth.
