hey everyone,

ive got an 06 ZX3 SES. 5 speed. and it needs engine help...
tooling around some local on ramps tonight, with no traffic round (cars or cops) just seeing how much this little 2.0 had.. well my buddy drove a long with his jeep... Smoked the doors off of me[dunno], and i was running the gears to what it had... an uncomfortable 7K RPMs.. so im thinking now, after college gets over in a year... Big time engine work.

what would you guys suggest.. for around.. 5-8K$

most bang for the buck... and street ability.

Well, if you are going to drop 5-8k, your best bang for buck is the focus sport turbo. You can get both stage I and II for under 5k. Use the rest of the money for suspension items.

haha no way, SPI can beat that Duratec! lol no honhon, I'm kidding.... that's true though, Duratecs are more superior... I was just generally speaking horsepower, as I've found quite a few SVTf engines for around $1,200..... duratecs are what, 130hp at the flywheel? I bet if you stuck a turbo on it and a few other things like a tune, intake and whatever else, you'd probably surpass the 170hp of the SVT, am I correct? [thumb]

eventually i want to own a focus ZX3 with the conversion kit and put a F1 race engine into it.

yeah actually I was thinking about a V6 from a Taurus..... I'd say don't do it unless you want to spend a lot of money and time, and make custom mounts... The V8 kit, and correct me if I'm wrong, is about $20,000 though I think that is for them to do the whole swap for you.....because on a V8 conversion, you have to convert to rear wheel drive as well... So I guess my point is get an engine made for the focus and your life will be tons easier.

I say turbo the sucker (that means do the internals too an not half ass it by slapping on the turbo) buy an H&R cup kit + koni adjustables + H&R 24mm front sway + the steeda 28.6 mm rear sway bar. an you should beat him pretty good

jeeps are pretty quick, I'm porting out my head on mine to compliment the header back exhaust and intake system!! tons of torque!! 210 to the crank stock out of a straight 6!!!!!

lol...depending on the Model Jeep he had, he probably had around twice the TQ as you, of course he walked you. [hihi] All this talk about Engine Swaps and RW Conversions...just slap a 3 grand turbo in it and be done. Easy peasy.

yea those 4.0 HO engines arnt something to joke around with, they'll burn them right off...made me hate ford when i was driving my 93 explorer with the 4.0...yea with 5-8g's id do the FS stage 2 turbo and do up the internals...then some suspension work....then call ur buddy back, then say c ya lata

yup those jeeps are no joke. i have one , its just snorkle and a tune and with the od on and ill hand it to some hondas. but you said you were shifting @ 7000 rpm??? i thought our motors stop producing power at 6000-625000 rpm. line up again and try shifthing @ 6000 rpms

yea shifting at 7k is a waste of time, unless of course u did have built internals with like stage 3 cams

That V8 hayabusa .... made me excited in the pants... till i saw the $ tag. Wow. that would be awesome.

But, i forgot to mention what the jeep was... a brand new 2006-07 Grand Cherokee with the Hemi Engine.. 5.7L i believe.

anyone have info on that hayabusa.. what about putting one of thouse engines in?

so prety much, rebuild the engine, Crank, Rods, Pistons&rings, port&polish the head, Mill the head, Cams, Turbo, CIA, headers, Larger exhaust, CLUTCH!, inter cooler, C02 spray on the cooler. Chip(s), Dino.... FUN
