Good shop in CT, or helpful people

Ok so as some of you who met me at a few of the meets (Epping, Milford, etc.) may or may not know, I moved last Dec. to CT, so haven't really been up to MA/NH this year, been traveling a lot and not much time when meets do come up. Well recently I'd been looking for a replacement for my 02 SVT. There's nothing wrong with it just wanted something with more luxury and power. I was looking at g35s and BMW 330s all over but couldnt find one that suited me for the right price. Well last week browsing the BST forums here I found a great alternative, a '04 SVT with the PWSC (power) and the Euro package (more luxury, well at least nicer seats and sunroof) so I jumped on it. Now I'm figuring I need to move some of the goodies from my '02 (Borla, EBC brakes, etc) to the new car. Does anyone know of a good shop to do this, or is there anyone with the tools and facilities that'd be willing to help me out? I should have the car back in CT by the 20th, and want to have the '02 pretty much stock by mid Oct. Also, some parts may become available for sale of for trade. I'll keep you guys updated, and thanks for reading this long ass post!

Try Altered Image Customs in Plainfield. Phone # is 860-564-5667 and ask for Josh.

I haven't found any speed shops in the area really...I get all my work done by one of the mechanics where I work at Plaza Ford in Niantic.
I've heard of a place in Norwich that may be able to help, and Plainfield might have one as well. Don't quote me on that though.

Also, Plaza Ford has a Saleen Focus right now. Not much on the luxury part, but if you hook up the bottle to it, it'll have the power.

Edit..guess I was right about Plainfield. I pass that place every time I go to my grandma's. They usually have some modified trucks out front.

Sweet guys, thanks for the replies! Mr. Bill, that Saleen Focus is a pretty car! I'd have to look at it if I didn't already agree to purchase a really sweet 2004 SVT Euro 5dr. It is more luxurious than my '02 because it has the full leather interior, traction control and the sunroof =] And power, yeah the Powerworks S/C helps out there.

Hey Charlie, havn't been on the forums much myself lately either, but congrats on the new buy, I've been watchin that SVT you picked up since he started posting, looks like he did all his mods in the safest manor and had Tom install and tune. That sounds like a great deal luxurious, powerful, and most of all reliable.

Welcome to CT, I finished my undergrad here last year and officially moved out my parent's house and to Hartford this summer. Groton is nice, lots to do and close to the casinos. Next summer check out Sail Fest in New London, I went for the first time this year and had a blast! I would love to see the new car so we should def get together.

As for a shop, my buddy runs an EXCELLENT body shop up here in Hartford, so when you need paint, a kit, or serious custom work they can hook you up. When it comes to the Borla, there's a really good and cheap exhaust shop right across the street from the body shop Fast-Go Muffler, they did my lunch box delete on my old SPI in under 45 minutes for pocket change (also it is owned by Majikal from FJ friend's father if i remember correctly). The brakes should be easy, if you have the time and tools are minimal for those. I did Focus brakes twice so if you wanna have a tech day we could swap them out, maybe I'll do the brakes on my daily too. I have a two car garage, and the tools to do the brakes; I just don't have my jack or jack stands with me.

Nice dude, do it up. And really, those parts wouldnt be that hard to swap over yourself. I'm sure someone over in CT could give you a hand with some of it. The only hard part about swapping the exhaust is the same thing you and I went through, where the stock SVT exhaust has to be cut off and then welded back together.

If you need jacks and jack stands, you could always go to Sears, buy a jack and some stands, use them, then return them. Haha, trust me, they'll take them back too. Just clean them up and if they give you shit about it, complain till they take the return.

Good luck though, and post pictures of the PWSCSVT asap!
