Can anyone help me out I have a ford focus 04 plate the gears are quite stiff in the morning due to weather going to change my brake clutch fluid but cant finfdthe spec one to use any ideas thanks

Moved to General Tech Chat.

Brake/clutch hydraulic fluid isn't going to make a difference, gearbox oil MAY if a prev. owner used something thicker than specified.

A full synthetic manual trans fluid is std. for this (2 qt.) NOT a gear oil.

Dealer fluid is the safest recommendation, many others can work EXCEPT anything labeled as "Gear Oil".

I use Redline currently. Mobil 1 50wt works as well.

The Ford honey is the best option though.

I use Amsoil 75w-90 MTG (GL-4) oil in mine.
