when ever it rains for a few days, my gauge cluster shuts down until it warms up and dries out inside the car. wtf? throws code dtc 9318. battery and alternator are fine... what's getting wet?

I'd have to say a loose connection at the battery, poor ground or maybe the plug on the back of the cluster is loose.
Ground would be my first guess. If you look in the How-To a user Brad White did a nice write up on how to improve the grounds for the newer cars. May want to look into that.

ok, i'll check the ground and look at brad's write-up on how to improve it.

i thought something might have been shorting when it was damp... i already went through the battery and alt. and they both tested ok.

Did you resolve this issue yet? It might help other FFs and myself if you could let us know what the problem was and how you fixed it.
